Finding Me

I stand alone.

Different.

No one understands.

No one see the pain:

Separate, different, misunderstood.

In my solitude, comforting isolation.

I see my shadows

and they are beautiful.

I am not broken.

I'm different and only lacking

by other's standards.

I take back my truth,

my authentic self.

I gain new truths,

new identities.

I am different

and so much better for it.

Beautiful in my uniqueness.

Not broken, not useless,

no longer unworthy.

I have found my voice

in all the noise

and it is beautiful.

No longer silenced.

I gather together

the many pieces of my soul

and I am whole.

Still in a world that can't see me,

but it matters not,

for I can finally see myself.

And I am uniquely remade.

No longer trying for others approval.

I find my own path, my own truths.

I no longer desire to fit in,

but wrap myself in solitude,

finding strength in my identities,

finding peace in the beautiful silence,

hearing my own voice.

No beautifully broken,

but uniquely me

in a broken world.

I will no longer listen to the noise.

Now I have my own voice,

my own truth,

and it is more beautiful

than the world's distracting lies.

I move forward with my hard-won solitude.

I create my own truth

surrounded by the beauty of my unique

unbroken soul.
